In July 2022, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey allowed a bill that proposed a $125 million tax incentives for TV and movie productions to become law.
With a $75 million ceiling at first, the new credit will start in 2023 before increasing to $125 million in 2025. Productions must either use a soundstage that is at least 10,000 square feet in size to film on, or if they use location shooting, they must complete all post-production at a "certified production facility" in the state.
The regulations are currently being written by the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA). We will continue to track the latest news and update this page as more information becomes available.
What does this mean for the Arizona Film/TV industry? We expect to see an increase of filming in Arizona starting in the new year and growing in the years to come.
